Abstract

Steadily growing design complexity makes traditional analog simulators become decreasingly feasible for mixed-signal verification. Rising the abstraction level is among the most promising approaches to overcome these limitations. However, detailed descriptions of analog components are always capable of slowing down system simulation dramatically. This paper presents a novel approach to accelerate the transient simulation of analog mixed-signal systems by generating and employing abstract circuit models during runtime. Nonlinear elements can be handled by piecewise linear descriptions. A SystemC interface will allow integration within various simulation environments.
