Land Management and Real Estate Economics II
The module deepens the understanding for the management of land/plots and its impact on the real estate market and values. By practical exercise, the students refine their skills and get prepared for applying this basic knowledge in their further Master’s studies in land management. After attending the course, the students have deepened their knowledge in land management and real estate economics.
Module Contents
This lecture explains the domain of land management by describing local policies of building land development and building land supply. That includes the following subcejt: roles of public and private stakeholders, models of cooperative urban development, local principle resolutions of building land development, models of socially fair land use. Another focus is the special urban planning legislation (urban redevelopment; urban development measures). This lecture also deepens the domain of real estate economic. In this regard, the increase of land values caused by development and its calculation are addressed. Furthermore, the lecture includes basics of project development and building land cost estimation, urban development contracts and the cooperation with an investor. The exercise will focus on current problems of land management and real estate valuation, especially on development of building land and urban development calculations.
