Industrial Surveying
The module introduces additional and substituting characteristics of sensor systems in the field of engineering sciences as well as the representation of engineering analysis chain from the original measurements to the results with representative uncertainty measures. Upon successful completion of the module, students will be able to understand current approaches of high-precision surveying in a close range interdisciplinary environment and will have practice skills in related topics. The students are able to develop practical problem solutions and to transfer the general approaches from the lecture to various examples of industrial surveying.
Module Contents
Topics and sensors covered:
- coordinate measurement machines
- theodolite measurement systems (TMS)
- polar measurement systems (especially: Laser tracker, laser tracer, laser radar, gauge arm)
- coordinate measurement techniques
- determination of measurement
- shape analysis
- tolerance check
- measurement uncertainty
Practical tutorial: three-dimensional object surveying by mean of laser tracking and interpretation of their measurement uncertainties.
